Playlist for March 12, 2009

This week is a tribute to the one, the only, Native Tongues Posse; featured cuts include some De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Jungle Brothers, Da Bush Babees, Black Sheep, and the Fu-Schnickens. A few funk tracks (including the ubiquitous Roy Ayers) make an appearance before the show ends with more Native Tongues hip-hop, including a remix of the classic posse cut "Scenario."

**Remember, there IS a contest this week**: name the track and Wu-Tang member who sampled Baby Huey and the Babysitters' "Hard Times" for a song on one of his solo efforts. The winner gets a hug. If I don't know you (or I'm not in the hugging mood, which varies on a person-by-person basis) , expect me to slap or clasp your hand (i.e. high five or handshake, respectively) instead.

Funky Fresh: Spreading the Love of Music Through Hugs and High Fives.

  2. I'm gonna guess you already know the answer. But since you didn't EXPLICITLY say it, I'm gonna give others a chance unless you say the name of the song.

My high fives are serious business.
